CONTINUOUS Improvement
Seattle Children’s is ranked as one of the best children’s hospitals in the nation. Their website requires a wealth of content to present pertinent information to patients. Unfortunately the site was built in a way that did not meet the growing needs of the organization.
The site was rebuilt in Ektron to be more efficient and to enable additional functionality and customization to present a greater range of content and to increase site stability. A new framework was developed to support over 10,000 pages of content. On-going support and site maintenance is provided to allow for minimal content downtime and development.
Within this project, my role was as an analyst, looking at the various existing content types and layouts and providing the requirements needed in order to properly develop the new site architecture and content types. Over 20 requirements documents were developed with dozens of requirements entries within each. Each requirement entry documented the behavior of the content starting from a user creating and editing content all the way to how the content is presented to a user on the front end.
