Hello!
Thanks for visiting my site and learning a little bit about me! I’m a second-generation American, with both my parents immigrating to the U.S. in the 70’s from South Korea. I feel a connection with my heritage and hope to deepen that connection with future visits! If you need kimchi, let me know, I’m constantly making batches.
I'm an information technology professional currently based in Virginia. I've been working in various roles within information technology for over a decade. My roles have ranged from Business Systems Analyst, Project Manager, Quality Assurance Engineer, Web Designer/Developer, and Content Manager. I’ve been in various fields including finance, web design, higher education, fine arts, and currently medical news and patient engagement. My wide range of both roles and industries has led to having a very wide skill set and wearing multitudes of hats to fulfill the needs of an organization or clients.
I have a passion for technology and how it can elevate and engage with users. A primary focus of my work is to ensure that whatever materials or platforms are presented to users, that it is accessible. What does that mean? It means designing and developing projects with the end user at the forefront. Allowing individuals, no matter their ability, to be able to meaningfully engage with what we create. This includes individuals with any kind of ocular, hearing, or mobility impairment. These impariments should never diminish the user experience.
Calm Technology is another passion of mine. What is Calm Technology? It is the idea that technology should not scream for attention, but allow for individuals to engage with it on their terms and without stress. A core idea of this philosophy is “A person's primary task should not be computing, but being human.” To learn more about Calm Technology, visit calmtech.com.
When I'm not working on the web, you can usually find me tinkering with a new computer build, building a new mechanical keyboard, playing DnD with friends, or walking my dog Duncan.
